A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

Built around
the real thing.

I’m building MCR 3D in Manchester around a straightforward idea: a digital product should be faithful to the physical one, and getting it made should be simple.

Why I built MCR 3D

I want smaller brands and people without their own capture setup to have access to useful 3D assets. They should not need to understand reconstruction software or build a camera rig before they can show a product properly.

I’ve been building and testing a practical workflow with real clothing and objects. That includes a yellow and navy jacket, with about ten years of wear. Its folds and marks matter. The aim is to capture the item that exists, rather than create a cleaner, imaginary version of it.

Photography comes first

I’m a photographer. Knowing the cameras, controlling the lighting and keeping the capture consistent are the starting point. Calibration and attention to detail matter because the reconstruction depends on what the photographs actually show.

This is photogrammetry: overlapping photographs used to reconstruct a real surface and its photographic appearance. The product is not generated from a prompt. I want its shape, texture and character to come from the item itself. That means inspecting the result against the photographs and working through defects, rather than accepting something simply because it looks convincing from one angle.

High standards, simple service

I’m building a service that keeps the complicated work behind a clear customer journey. We agree the job before you send your item. Receipt is logged, the item is photographed, and its return is arranged while the digital work continues.

You receive a preview to review. Once you approve and pay the agreed price, you receive the files and hosted viewing link, with AR for compatible devices where agreed. The purpose is practical: help you show the real product, and make the finished asset straightforward to use.
